Girls' Night [Sweet Princess Iris]

Kennedy's laid out several blankets and pillows on the distressed hard-wood floors of her top-floor apartment. It was a long day at work, but thankfully a productive one. Several customers came by to commission her after visiting her booth at the art festival, something she'll call a win. Now that there's a nice open space on the floor free of her canvases, paints, and as clean as it's been since she's moved in, Kennedy pops a big tub of Neopolitan ice cream into the freezer and sets a bottle of wine in a bucket of ice to chill. She picked up everything from the market on the way home.

"I hope Iris doesn't mind eating on the floor..." she worries, but furniture such as a dinning room table really seemed like a waste of money when she needed the space for her art. She shrugs, figuring her new friend will be so excited, she'll love absolutely everything. Laying a box full of jewelry-making supplies on the floor along with their stash of beads from the festival, she pulls out her notebook, quietly working up a quick sketch of the man Owen she met at her booth as she waits for Iris.

"Becauuuse! It means I have to admit I have a crush," she says, giggling awkwardly and ducking her head.

"Wait, you mean you currently have a crush or when you do find someone attractive, that means you'll then have a crush and be too embarrassed to admit it?" she squints, trying to figure this out.

Iris fumbles, dropping her coffee on the floor and jumping up. "Oh gosh! How clumsy of me!" she manages to squeak out, rushing off and getting napkins.

Kennedy watches her friend, mouth dropping. "OH MY GOD, YOU HAVE A CRUSH, DON'T YOU?"

"Kennedy! Hush!" she hisses, mopping up the mess and frantically avoiding the question.

She's still staring at Iris with wide eyes, completely not bothered by the mess, because to be fair, Kennedy puts these floors through hell and back. "You're so obvious, oh my God!"

"I am not!!" she squeaks in a huff. "I totally don't have a crush!"

[kennedyk]

"You are the worst liar, Iris Kouris!" She squints even more. "Don't make me grab your hand and force a vision so I get some info about this guy." Not that she thinks she actually could, but oh well.

[littleredsiren]

"I doubt you could catch me," she says, sticking her tongue out. "And I'm like, 90% sure your powers don't work that way!"

[kennedyk]

"I'm an enigma, Iris! And I'm damn fasts. You really wanna test it?"

[littleredsiren]

She sticks her tongue out at Kennedy, inching away. "Do you?"

[kennedyk]

"Get your scaly ass over here!" she scrunches her nose, reaching out for Iris' arm.

[littleredsiren]

"Rude!" she squeaks, skipping out of the way. "My butt is not scaly!"

[kennedyk]

"It's scaly sometimes!" she corrects, chasing Iris around a giant easel. "Just come here, it won't hurt."

[littleredsiren]

She lets out a squeal as she trips over a leg of the easel, landing flat on her ass and trying to scramble to her feet before Kennedy gets her. "Back, witch! Back!"

Kennedy pounces as soon as Iris trips, grabbing her wrist and squeezing her eyes shut tight, trying to will a vision. Nothing happens and she scowls. "Damnit, what good are my visions if I can't spy on people!"

"Ha! I told you you couldn't do it!" she grins, trying to push Kennedy away with her feet.

[kennedyk]

Kennedy sticks her tongue out. "Oh so you don't believe in me, I see how it is!" She reaches over and tickles Iris' side before releasing her in defeat.

Iris lets out a loud squealy giggle, squirming away. "Don't tickle me, you witchy fiend!"

[kennedyk]

"Don't challenge me then!" she argues, sticking her tongue out. "You brought this all on yourself."

[littleredsiren]

"I have to challenge you! You learned something about your powers today because of me!" she grins, sitting up.

[kennedyk]

"Sucky things! I wanna control them," she frowns. "I wanna strike the fear of God in others." She's teasing, of course, though that would be cool. "And I still don't know who your crush is."

[littleredsiren]

"Hold my arm and try reaaally hard?" she offers, holding it out for her. "I'll try and open my mind to you!"

[kennedyk]

Kennedy takes her arm with a doubtful expression. "What am I supposed to do?" She closes her eyes, trying to slip into that weird, floating, empty sensation she gets when a vision comes along.

"Ummm... When I want to transform, I stop thinking so hard and just let the feeling come over me. Try that?" she suggests, trying to focus on that really awkward crush on Jason, since she clearly already knows about the one on Eli, but she's blushing up a storm and it's difficult to stay focused.
